Discurso del Presidente del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia, Luis Arce Catacora, en la Conferencia de Prensa con Homólogo de Paraguay, Santiago Peña
Muchísimas gracias, muy buenas tardes a los amigos de la prensa.
A las organizaciones sociales que nos acompañan.
A la delegación de la hermana República de Paraguay.
A nuestro ministro, viceministros que están acompañándonos.
Agradecer infinitamente la visita placentera que hemos recibido de nuestro hermano Presidente Santiago Peña de la hermana República del Paraguay aquí en nuestro país.
Es un encuentro entre las dos economías que más crecen, somos las economías más dinámicas de la región y tenemos por lo tanto mucho de que conversar, mucho de que enriquecernos uno de los otros.
El crecimiento económico que tiene el Paraguay, que lo admiramos y que lo congratulamos de que esto sea así, solo se compara con el crecimiento que tenemos en nuestra economía nacional, ese crecimiento que genera una mayor riqueza en cada uno de nuestros países y que esa mayor riqueza demanda una mayor articulación entre los países hermanos para crecer aún más.
Esa dinámica de nuestras economías tiene que traducirse en una mayor complementariedad de nuestras economías para seguir creciendo, para seguir mejorando la calidad de vida de nuestros habitantes, pero de ambos países, por eso es que este encuentro cobra una mayor significación.
Hemos hablado de la seguridad pero también de proyectos económicos que tenemos en agenda con la hermana República del Paraguay, negocios que podemos hacer, inversiones que podemos tener, pero también es importante el intercambio que tenemos de ciertos criterios de afines allá en los organismos internacionales que nos va tocar estar juntos, tenemos el Mercosur que Bolivia está ingresando ya decididamente en este proceso, también tenemos las reuniones de Naciones Unidas, de la Organización de Estados Americanos como los mencionaba el Presidente paraguayo y otro tipo de actividades internacionales que por supuesto requieren y demandan para mejorar la calidad de vida de nuestros pueblos un diálogo abierto, sincero como lo hemos encontrado con el Presidente Santiago Peña.
Bolivia muy contenta, muy feliz a través de mi persona hermano Presidente Santiago Peña este es nuestro país que lo quiere, que lo va recibir siempre con las manos abiertas porque un hermano, un latinoamericano que piensa en su desarrollo de su país, de su pueblo coincide con los planteamientos que nosotros tenemos para nuestro país, queremos lo mejor y para eso estamos absolutamente claros que tenemos que seguir trabajando y que mejor trabajar juntos para poder mejorar ambos países y ambas poblaciones que están habidas y necesitadas de mayor y mejor días y mejorar la calidad de vida en cada uno de nosotros.
Siéntase por lo tanto siempre bienvenido conjuntamente hermano Santiago, conjuntamente toda su delegación y todo el pueblo paraguayo; estaremos siempre pendientes de poder realizar cualquier tipo de reunión para seguir coordinando, para seguir avanzando en lo que el pueblo necesita.
Somos gobiernos que responden al pueblo y por lo tanto nosotros más que nadie entendemos perfectamente que tenemos que seguir trabajando, lo hemos entendido desde que éramos ministro del área correspondiente y ahora que nos toca una labor mucho más exigente todavía estamos aún más convencidos de que esta unión entre los países hermanos facilita el trabajo y facilita y allana el camino para mejorar nuestros días.

Thank you very much, good afternoon to our friends from the press.
To the social organizations that are with us.
To the delegation of the sister Republic of Paraguay.
To our minister, vice ministers who are joining us.
We are infinitely grateful for the pleasant visit we have received from our brother President Santiago Peña of the sister Republic of Paraguay here in our country.
It is a meeting between the two fastest growing economies, we are the most dynamic economies in the region and therefore we have a lot to talk about, a lot to enrich from each other.
Paraguay’s economic growth, which we admire and congratulate for being that way, can only be compared to the growth we have in our national economy, that growth that generates greater wealth in each of our countries and that this greater wealth requires greater coordination between our sister countries in order to grow even more.
This dynamic of our economies must be translated into a greater complementarity of our economies in order to continue growing, to continue improving the quality of life of our inhabitants in both countries, which is why this meeting takes on greater meaning.
We have talked about security but also about economic projects that we have on the agenda with the sister Republic of Paraguay, about business that we can do, investments that we can make, but it is also important the exchange that we have between certain related criteria with the international organizations that we are going to attend together, we have Mercosur, a process that Bolivia is joining decisively; We also have the United Nations meetings, the Organization of American States, as the Paraguayan President has already mentioned, and other types of international activities that of course require and demand the improvement of our people´s life quality; an open and sincere dialogue as we have found with President Santiago Peña.
Bolivia is very happy, and through me, brother President Santiago Peña, I would like to express that our country loves you and will always welcome you with open arms because a brother, a Latin American who thinks about the development of his country, of his people, matches the proposals we have for our country, we want the best and we have absolute clarity to continue working; and what better way than working together to improve both countries and both populations that are in need of better days and to improve the quality of life in each one of our nations.
Therefore, you are always welcome, brother Santiago, together with all your delegation and with all the Paraguayan people; we will always be waiting for any type of meeting to continue coordinating, to continue advancing in terms of what people´s needs.
We are governments that respond to the people and therefore we, more than anyone else, understand perfectly well that we have to continue working, we have understood this since we were ministers of the corresponding area and now that we have a much more challenging task, we are even more convinced that this union between brotherly countries facilitates the work and facilitates the path to improve our days.
